El Campo

Hey,

Man what a week! The field is awesome but extremely hard too! Spanish is pretty difficult to understand but everyday I get better and better. My comp Elder Polonco and I are teaching people like crazy. The days are just flying by and by the end im dead. Trying to speak spanish all day and teaching makes my head feel like its going to explode. Its awesome jaja

Mexico is awesome and my area is cool too. Half of my area is regular but the other half is pretty dangerous. I love it! The other day in the dangerous part some guy walked right in front of us, turned around, and kicked a puddle of water in our face. Then i just ran away. My comp and I were like what the heck. I was angry at first but then i thought about our savior and how people spit in his face and mocked him after all he did was serve others. So we just carried on and went to our appointment :) Im so grateful for the example of the Savior, especially now on the mish.

Im doing pretty good! I love the mish because its extremely hard but I know that Im doing the Lords work. Everytime in a lesson I can feel the spirit so strong and im always holding back tears. I know that Heavenly Father knows us personally and loves us more than we can imagine. Like my bro said in his letter, Heavenly Father is always listening so pray to Him.

Pumped for this upcoming week because we have a couple new appointments with investigators. Pumped for these next two years cause I know that its going to be a tough but great time :) Love you all tons and i hope you have an awesome week!

Tlatelolco

Hey,

Talk abou one crazy week! I left the CCM and now im in the mish. MUY LOCO!!

Leaving the CCM was kind of tough because i made some really good friends. But im excited to be in the field and get working. Im excited because i have probably the best trainer in our mission. He works hard and is really helpful. Ive been in the field for two days and ive already taught 10 plus lessons. Its been quite the roller coaster but i love it. My spanish is pretty good. I can teach just fine and get my point across but sometimes its hard for me to understand.

My companion is Elder Palanco and he is from the Domincano Rebublic, i know i didnt spell that right jaja. But he only speaks spanish so that helps a lot cause its helping me learn the language faster. He thinks my spanish is really good but i think im just good at playing it off like i know mas! Our area is Tlateloco and its cool. Sorta dangerous but im Pumped!!

Mexico is a straight trip. Sortaof a culture shock but its awesome. So many people and our appartment is in a crazy tall building and the view is wild!! I love the mish so far cause its hard and humbling. I love the challenge cause i know if i work hard the Lord will bless me with the language and many other things. Yesterday i felt like crying not cause its hard but just cause i see how much i ve been blessed in my life. The lord truly does know us personally and wants to bless us. All we need to do is be obedient and pray to Him. Muy Padre, it means cool. Whenever doubt creeps in my head that i cant do this i just say a prayer and work even harder.

Just want to shout out to my brother Elder Ian Nobmann. Now that ive been in the mish field a couple days i really see how hard things are. And Ian has been a stud the whole time. The hardest worker ive ever met, in all things he does. Beyond blessed to have such and amazing brother and example in my life!! Love you bro!!

some pics from the CCM, I found Nye!

I love ya all and i hope everyone is having a great week :)

Its About To Go Down!

Hey everyone,

So this is my last week here in the CCM. I leave for the mission home Monday morning and start my time in the field. The CCM has been a huge blessing to help prepare me for the field. My Spanish is pretty solid and I feel good about the lessons. But I do know the that field is going to throw me around the first month or two so im pretty excited about that.

Its been a pretty cool week. On Sunday my District was in charge of doing Sacrament for the people who make the food here and I was in charge to lead the service. That was pretty cool experience, it was all in spanish. I understood everything i said but im not sure if the people did haha but its all good cause im learning :) Also i had to give a talk on Sunday, all in spanish as well. It actually went really good, really awesome experience. So I forgot to tell you guys but ive been singing in the CCM choir these past couple of weeks. All the songs we sing are in Spanish and we sing before devotionals on Tuesdays. Ive sang the past two weeks with the choir so im sorta of a big deal around here haha jk Im terrible at singing but hey its a lot of fun :) So crazy things happened to my pants this week. First on Friday i sat in a chair weird and they just ripped down the middle. It was during studying time and all the guys in my district were laughing so hard. Then on Tuesday i was in the bathroom with some guys in my district to wash my hands. The soup container looked weird but i decided to use it any way and when i pushed on it....it fell over a shot soup all over my pants. Of course once again all the guys in my district were there to see it happen haha I guess the learning experience from that is..well im not really sure yet but hey hopefully it helped make some other peoples day better because they were able to get a good laugh in :) But its all good, I didn't mind it!

One thing ive learned this week is that our Heavenly Father loves us so much. He truly does know us personally and wants the best for us. Also how by praying to Him and reading your scriptures everyday you truly do put on the armor of God and are blessed with the Spirit through the day. Its crazy how something so simple as saying your prayers and reading your scriptures can make that huge of a difference.

Im so grateful for the opportunity i have to serve and to be called to serve here in Mexico. I know this Church is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God. Also that the Book of Mormon are the words of Holy prophets and that it testify of Christ. Pretty sweet and humbling blessings to have this church in my life. I love you all so much and thanks for all your support :)

One Month In!

Hey,

Man its crazy how fast time goes. Already been on my mission for a month now and I leave for the mission field on the 16th of this month. But i loving my time here and all my learning experiences. Thanks so much everyone for writing me each week. Sorry if i dont get back to you right after, been trying to be obedient to the 1 hour rule so its hard to get it all in.

This week was pretty great. My spanish is getting better every day and Im learning lots of awesome things to help me teach in the mission field. On sunday we watched a video on the Restoration of the Gospel through the perspective of Joseph Smiths mothers view. Man from learning and teaching about the restoration of the church and of Joseph Smith I really love and am so grateful for all he did. He gave his life for this church so I can live with my family for eternity with our Heavenly Father. I memorized the first vision in spanish to teach in lessons and nothing brings the spirit stronger than after I say it in a lesson, its amazing!!

As far as life here in the CCM its been great. I have such an amazing District of guys who work hard and just laugh. We are always together and we all share our testimony often to each other which is really cool. Last night we brought mattresses into our room and had a district sleepover, so much fun! But the best part of it was we were asleep by 10.30 cause we wanted to be obedient. Then we got up at 5.30 and went and worked out together. Literally getting spiritual, getting bigger, and getting blessings. How awesome is that haha. Its so beautiful here in mexico, the sunsets and rises are so awesome.

Still playing soccer in the cancha everyday and doing my 52, 22, 13, then more push ups at night. Getting nervous and excited to leave for the Mission field on the 16th and just taking it day by day. I love you all so much and i want you to know that i know Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God and that he translated the Book of Mormon. I know that this church is true and that it truly does change lives. Thanks for everyone being in awesome example in my life, miss you all tons and i hope you are having a great week.

Check out the sweet sky and that sweet selfie haha. I picked up a sweater at the store here and unfortunately my first choose was a womens sweater, I had to go with another :) haha
